Steely Dan's gift to the Scottish Pink Floyd
A MASSIVE thank you to Steely Dan and their production crew for offering members of the Scottish Pink Floyd tickets to their show at the SSE Hydro on Wednesday 20th February (which we gratefully accepted).
Steely Dan were rehearsing at the same studio complex as the Scottish Floyd when many of the crew got talking to our band, and happened to mention that they themselves were big Floyd fans.
When the day of the Steely Dan performance came around, members of the Scottish Floyd were delighted to be seated just 4 rows from the stage. We were recognised by a couple of the roadies who shouted: “Hey, it's Pink Floyd!” - probably to the confusion of the audience members around us.
Donald Fagan and the rest of the band put on great performances of classics such as ‘Rikki Don't Lose that Number’, ‘Dirty Work’ and ‘Reelin' in the Years’, with fantastic support from Steve Winwood.
